Meet Me!
-
I’m a Registered Canadian Art Therapist (RCAT) and Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), supporting kids, teens, families, parents, and adults in the Victoria community.
Outside of the therapy room, I love spending time with my son and husband, painting, listening to music, the beach, and wandering around the city trying new coffee spots.
-
At the core of my work is creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are, no pressure, no pretending. Whether it’s big feelings, messy relationship patterns, parenting overwhelm, or just feeling stuck, we’ll figure it out together.
My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, culturally aware, and neuro-affirming. I draw from post-degree training in modalities including, art therapy, play-based approaches, attachment-focused work, narrative therapy, CBT, DBT-informed strategies, and parts work, always tailoring the process to fit you and your needs. I also bring my own lived experience of ADHD into the work, which means I understand how complex, fun, and sometimes frustrating things can feel, and we can work with that, not against it.
-
I work closely with kids and teens navigating anxiety, low mood, people-pleasing, and risk-taking behaviours. I have a strong focus on supporting neurodivergent clients, including autistic and ADHD folks, and I’m especially attuned to high-masking experiences that often get missed.
I also support parents who are trying to make sense of their child’s needs while holding everything else together. As a parent myself, I understand how intense, beautiful, and overwhelming it can be, and how important it is to have a space that supports you, too.
For adults, I offer a space to unpack relationship patterns, early experiences, and the messiness of everyday life..making sense of the things that may have never had space to be understood.
-
My background includes a Youth Probation Certificate, an Associate Degree in Pre-Social Work, a Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies, a Post-Bachelor’s Diploma in Art Therapy, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. In addition to my formal education, I have completed post-degree counselling training in modalities including narrative therapy, CBT, DBT-informed practice, attachment-focused work, parts work, play-based approaches, and trauma-informed care.
With over 10 years of experience across front-line and therapeutic roles, my work has been shaped by supporting youth, families, and individuals navigating complex systems, mental health challenges, and life transitions.
-
In addition to counselling, I offer clinical supervision for art therapists who are building their practice. My style is very “come as you are”. Being supportive, thoughtful, and focused on helping you find your own voice as a therapist.
Supervision hours can be counted toward both RCAT and ACCT requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Art therapy is a way of exploring thoughts and feelings through creativity. It can be used at any age, but it’s often especially helpful for children, as they don’t always have the words to express what they’re experiencing. Art offers a more natural way to communicate, process, and make sense of their world. No artistic skill is needed. It's about expression, not ability.

-
Supervision is a supportive space for therapists to reflect on their work, deepen their clinical skills, and navigate ethical or practice-related questions. It is also often a requirement for practicing therapists. My approach is collaborative and grounded in helping you grow into your own style as a therapist.
-
Sessions are tailored to your child and often include play, creativity, and conversation. The focus is on building trust, helping your child feel safe, and supporting them in expressing and working through their feelings in a way that feels natural to them.
-
Your child’s privacy is important in building trust and safety. Sessions are kept confidential, while still keeping parents informed about general themes, progress, and ways to support at home. If there are any safety concerns, I will always communicate those with you.
-
I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be charged the full session fee.
-
Talk therapy with teens isn’t just sitting and talking the whole time (unless that’s what feels right). Sessions are flexible and can include conversation, creative expression, and interactive activities to make things feel more natural and easier to open up.
We might talk about things like friendships, school, family, identity, or stress, while also using tools like check-ins, games, drawing, snacks, going for walks or coping strategies. Some sessions are more talk-based, others are more activity-based. Everything is tailored to what feels most helpful for the teen.
The goal is to create a space that feels safe, real, and actually supportive.
-
Sessions are paid at the time of appointment, and you will receive a receipt that you can submit to your extended health provider for reimbursement. Coverage varies, so it’s a good idea to check your plan for Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) benefits.
I also work with third-party funders, including CVAP, AFU, NIL TU,O, Island Kids Cancer Association, and Heritage Online Christian School. If you are accessing services through a funder, we can go over the billing process together.
E-transfers are accepted to chelsey@dandelionarttherapy.ca.

Parent support sessions are a space just for you, to talk through challenges, better understand your child’s needs, and build practical, realistic tools for parenting. It’s collaborative, non-judgmental, and focused on supporting both you and your family.
-
Parent involvement is an important part of the process. While sessions are focused on your child and their privacy, I typically recommend a parent support session every 4 sessions to check in, share themes, and explore ways to support your child at home.
-
Emails related to scheduling or brief administrative questions are not charged. For more in-depth emails that involve therapeutic support, guidance, or processing outside of session time, this is considered part of clinical work and will be billed at a prorated rate based on my session fee.
